'Wanda' by Alice Berry
Guide dogs allow people freedom to get out and enjoy even more of the world. In the artwork you see abstract shapes of leaves to represent the sounds and smells of the flora, as well as a warm pink background representing the warm touch of the sun on your skin. She also has hot pink nails because she is fabulous!

Alice Berry
Alice Berry is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She has a recognisable style that is colourful, fun and not the expected. Alice paints with freedom and playfulness, drawing on her experiences and intuition to inform her work.
Alice's love of nature can be seen in the organic shapes, themes and textures in her artworks. Much of her work has been inspired by the many travels and adventures Alice has been on. Colouring outside the lines is something Alice believes in which you'll see as you look closer and notice that often the paint spills out from the canvas onto its frame.
Alice creates original paintings and releases limited edition art prints taken from portions of some of her favourite original artworks.
"I've been creating art since I was a kid doing after-school classes. I never studied art but always did it as a hobby through school and university years. In 2017 I had my first solo exhibition called 'Wonderland'. Now it's part of my everyday life and I love it.
I like to support NZ charities where I can and to be able to do that through my art is awesome. A lot of my work is about expressing experiences with freedom and I feel there is a strong link with that to people being able to experience more freedom and support with their guide dogs.
My doggo is called Wanda. Wanda’s name and style represent the adventures that someone with low vision/blindness will be able to take when they are paired with a guide dog. To be able to get out in nature and experience the peacefulness and connectedness with the world.
I have used Resene acrylic paints for this pup."
