About the Artist:Sarah Kolver
"I have been professionally painting part-time for the past 8 years, but I’ve loved art since I was little, when I could dunk my fingers in a paint pot and smear it on a canvas."
What themes do you like to communicate through your art?
"I love painting whimsical landscapes and native birds, bringing people calmness through colour and giving them moments of lighthearted joy."
What motivated you to participate in the Dog Art Auction?
"Creating art has always brought me joy, and to be able to paint for a cause like the Blind Low Vision Foundation is an amazing opportunity. I love the idea of my art being one small piece of a larger ‘mosaic’ of work that is not only raising funds for BLVNZ but is also increasing awareness in public spaces.
Accompanying the theme of possibility is also the concept of looking through the darkness to learn more about ourselves and embracing the parts of ourselves that make us shine. I hope Sirius will add a little brightness to people’s day, and if he gives them a chuckle, then my work here is done."
